Ingredients
  

For the Cake

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries or 1 cup crushed fresh strawberries
  • 15.25 ounce French vanilla cake mix I use Duncan Hines
  • 3 ounce strawberry gelatin mix Jell-O
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup water

For the Frosting

  • ½ block cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • cup unsalted butter softened (you can use salted if that is all you have)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon milk more if needed to get desired texture

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh strawberries, cake mix, gelatin mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix well.
  • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool before frosting.
  • For the frosting, beat together the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Frost the cooled cake and serve.

Notes

This cake is great for celebrations. You can add more strawberries on top for decoration.
