Ingredients
  

For the Apples

  • 6–8 pieces firm apples (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious), peeled, cored, and sliced

For the Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon.
  • Add melted butter, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the apple mixture. Stir to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours or until apples are tender.

Notes

Serve warm as a side dish or dessert. You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra sweetness.
