For the Pie

  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust store-bought or homemade
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted

Optional Topping

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg or cinnamon for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust.
  • If desired, sprinkle ground nutmeg or cinnamon on top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden brown.
  • Let the pie cool before slicing and serving.

Notes
