Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
Top with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and drizzle with olive oil. Optionally, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and fresh herbs.
Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
This bread tastes best fresh. You can store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
