Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • cups warm water (about 110°F)
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil (plus more for greasing and drizzling)

For the Topping

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary or thyme (optional, for garnish)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping (optional)

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Top with minced garlic, Parmesan cheese, and drizzle with olive oil. Optionally, sprinkle with flaky sea salt and fresh herbs.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

This bread tastes best fresh. You can store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
