2 ½cupsall-purpose flour
½teaspoonbaking powder
¼teaspoonsalt

colored sanding sugarfor rolling
pastel chocolate buttons or candy-coated chocolateslike M&Ms or Hershey’s Drops!
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Roll the dough into small balls and then roll them in colored sanding sugar. Place them on the baking sheet.
Press a pastel chocolate button into the center of each cookie.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week. You can use different colored chocolates for variety.
