Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Add the flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
In another pan, cook the ground beef with onions. Season with ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish. Set aside.
Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces. Flatten each piece and place a spoonful of beef and a tablespoon of cheddar cheese in the center. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal.
In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water to a boil and add the baking soda. Boil each pretzel bomb for 30 seconds, then remove and place on the baking sheet.
Brush each bomb with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm for the best texture. You can also add your favorite toppings to the filling.
